"Buddhism and Science" Exhibition Opens

2026.06.02

Opened on June 2, 2026, the "Buddhism and Science" exhibition explores the links between religion, philosophy, and science through three themed sections.

The "Buddhism and Science" exhibition at the Chinggis Khaan National Museum comprises three sections: "The World of Senses," "Exploring the Secrets of Dust," and "Mother Earth, My Responsibility." The museum launched this exhibition on June 2, 2026, to present connections between religion, philosophy, and science.

Monks from Buddhist monasteries in southern India created the exhibits using traditional thangka painting methods. The Tibetan Library, Archives, and the Center for Monastic Science in Dharamshala, India supported these artworks. Distinguished attendees included D. Choijamts (former Chief Abbot of Gandantegchenlen Monastery), N. Enkhbayar (former President of Mongolia), and O. Batsaikhan (State Prize Laureate and Doctor of Historical Sciences). During the opening, scholars and monks discussed topics including Buddhist philosophy, human cognition, and universal structure.

The Diluwa Khutagtu Foundation, Chinggis Khaan National Museum, Library of Tibetan Works and Archives, Science Center for Monasteries in Dharamshala, Gandantegchenlen Monastery, and other organizations jointly organized this exhibition.

The exhibition remains accessible to visitors at no charge through June 10, 2026, in the temporary exhibition hall on the museum's first floor.
